Objectives:

Materials:

  • Various objects that can produce sound (e.g., tuning fork, rubber band, ruler, bell)
  • Materials to test sound transmission (e.g., wood, metal, cotton, plastic)
  • Bowls of water
  • Pitch visualizer app
  • Computers or tablets with internet access

  • Chart paper or whiteboard

Lesson Procedure:

Part 1: Introduction to Sound (15 minutes)

  1. Engage:
    • Begin by asking students, "What is sound?" and "How do we hear?". Discuss initial ideas and write them on chart paper [i].
