Assumptions: This Active Lesson Plan assumes: a 100-minute class, prior student study with both the Book and the start of Project development, and that only one activity (among the three suggested) will be chosen to be conducted during the class, as each activity is designed to take up a significant portion of the available time.

Objectives

By clearly establishing what is to be achieved, the learning process and the practical application of previously studied concepts at home is facilitated. The defined objectives also serve as evaluation criteria to measure the success of students' learning.

2. Develop research skills in students, allowing them to design and execute research on various topics using the techniques learned.

Introduction

Duration: (20 - 25 minutes)

The introduction serves to engage students and activate prior knowledge about the topic, using problem situations that stimulate critical thinking and curiosity. Moreover, by relating the practice of research to real and playful contexts, students can visualize the importance and applicability of what they have learned, increasing motivation and interest in the subject.

Problem-Based Situations

1. Imagine you are detectives and need to discover who ate the party cake without leaving clues. What sources of information would you use to find out who is guilty? (5 - 10 minutes)

2. Think of yourselves as archaeologists who have to find a lost treasure. How would you use the internet and books to research where the treasure might be? (5 - 10 minutes)

Contextualization

The development stage is designed to allow students to practically and playfully apply the information research concepts studied previously, using both physical and digital sources. The activities are structured to promote teamwork, creativity, and the ability to synthesize and critically evaluate. This moment is crucial for consolidating learning and for students to experience research as a powerful tool for learning and discovery.

Activity 1 - Literary Treasure Hunt

- Objective: Develop research skills in books and teamwork, in addition to promoting critical reading and synthesis ability.

- Description: In this activity, students will be divided into groups of up to 5 people, where each group will represent a team of literary archaeologists. The goal is to find 'treasures' (relevant information) in storybooks and fables spread throughout the classroom. Each 'treasure' found must be noted and explained in which book and page it was discovered.

- Instructions:

• Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

• Spread the books around the classroom, each containing small clues or highlighted excerpts.

• Each group will have a set time to search for information in the books.

• Groups should note and explain where they found each relevant piece of information.

• At the end, each group will present the information found and discuss how the clues led to the treasure.

Activity 2 - Web Detectives

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Practice research skills on the internet, learn to evaluate the reliability of sources, and develop critical thinking.

- Description: Students, organized in groups, will act as web detectives to solve a fictional mystery. They will use the internet to collect information and clues to help solve the case. The mystery can be related to history or content learned in school.

- Instructions:

• Organize the class into groups of no more than 5 students.

• Present the mystery that needs to be solved, without revealing answers.

• Distribute a list of reliable websites that students can use to search for information.

• Students will have a limited time to research online.

• Each group will present their conclusions and the research process used.

Activity 3 - Mysterious Slide Presentation

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Learn to use various sources for research, practice presentation skills, and stimulate interest in new subjects.

- Description: In this activity, students will create slide presentations on a mysterious theme (for example, unknown animals, curiosities about space). They will have to research in books and on the internet the necessary information to fill in the mysterious slides.

- Instructions:

• Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

• Each group will choose a mysterious theme to develop their presentation.

• Students will research in books and on the internet to find information about the theme.

• They will fill in the PowerPoint slides with the information found.

• Each group will present their slide, and the classmates will try to guess what the mysterious theme is.

Feedback

Duration: (15 - 20 minutes)

This feedback stage is fundamental to consolidate students' learning, allowing them to reflect on the skills used and developed during the practical activities. Group discussion helps reinforce the content learned, facilitates the exchange of experiences among students, and promotes a deeper evaluation of the research process. Additionally, this stage is essential for the teacher to assess students' understanding and identify potential areas that require further exploration or explanation.

Group Discussion

At the end of the practical activities, organize a large circle discussion with all students to share their experiences and discoveries. Start the discussion with a brief introduction: 'Today we had the opportunity to explore different research methods, from looking in books to the internet. I would like each group to share a moment of discovery that was significant for them and how they reached that conclusion.' Encourage students to express what they liked most and what they found challenging, promoting an environment of respect and curiosity.
