Assumptions: This Active Lesson Plan assumes: a 100-minute class, prior student study with both the Book and the start of Project development, and that only one activity (among the three suggested) will be chosen to be conducted during the class, as each activity is designed to take up a significant portion of the available time.

Objectives

The first team to finish the list and correctly justify all the words wins the race.

• After deciding, one student from the group runs to the board and writes the word and its justification for accentuation.

- Objective: Develop creativity and understanding of the paroxytone accentuation rules.

- Description: Students, in groups, will choose a short scene from a children's book or a school play (that contains paroxytone words). They will need to rewrite parts of the dialogue, accenting words according to the paroxytone rules, especially focusing on the endings -i(s), -l, -r, -ão(s). Each group will present their scene to the class, which must identify the correctly accented words.

- Instructions:

• Organize the students into groups and allow them to choose a scene to rewrite.
