By understanding the importance of the positioning of digits in the decimal system, students will also be encouraged to reflect on their own emotions and behaviors during learning, promoting an environment of self-awareness and self-control.

Emotional Warm-up Activity

Guided Meditation for Focus and Concentration

The chosen emotional warm-up activity is Guided Meditation. This technique promotes focus, presence, and concentration among students, emotionally preparing them for the Mathematics lesson. Guided Meditation involves a process where students are led into a state of mental and physical relaxation, using breathing and visualization to calm the mind and body. This practice helps reduce anxiety and increases attention capacity, facilitating the learning of mathematical concepts.

1. Ask students to sit comfortably in their chairs, with their backs straight and feet flat on the floor.

2. Request that they close their eyes and place their hands gently on their thighs.

3. Explain that they will begin a brief guided meditation to help calm their minds and prepare their brains for learning.

4. Guide students to breathe deeply through their noses, counting to four, and then exhale slowly through their mouths, also counting to four. Repeat this deep breathing three times.

5. Next, ask students to breathe naturally and calmly, paying attention to the movement of their breath entering and exiting their bodies.

6. Lead them to imagine a peaceful and safe place, like a beach or a flower field. Describe this place in detail, encouraging them to visualize colors, sounds, and scents.

7. After a few minutes, ask students to slowly bring their attention back to the classroom, maintaining their calm and focus.

8. Conclude the guided meditation by asking them to slowly open their eyes and stretch gently, ready to start the lesson.

During this lesson, in addition to learning about natural numbers and the decimal system, students will have the opportunity to develop their socioemotional skills, such as self-awareness and self-control, by identifying and managing the emotions that arise during the learning process.

1. Decimal System: Explain that the decimal system consists of ten digits (0 to 9) and is a positional system where the position of the digits determines their value. For example, in the number 345, the '3' is in the hundreds place, the '4' in the tens place, and the '5' in the units place.

2. Positional Value: Detail that each position in a decimal number has a specific value. Use a board to show how the value of a digit changes depending on its position. For example, in 345: '3' is 300 (hundreds), '4' is 40 (tens), and '5' is 5 (units).

3. Natural Numbers: Define natural numbers as those used for counting (0, 1, 2, 3, ...). Explain that they do not include fractions or decimals and are always whole.

4. Examples and Analogies: Use everyday examples to illustrate these concepts, such as the number of students in the classroom, the quantity of books on the shelf, etc. Say: 'If we have 345 books, we know there are 300 hundreds, 40 tens, and 5 units of books.'

5. Writing and Reading Numbers: Show how to correctly write and read natural numbers. For example, to write 'four hundred and fifty-six', students need to understand how to position each digit: 456. Use practical exercises on the board to reinforce this.

Natural Numbers Game

3. Each group will form natural numbers using the cards and then write those numbers on a sheet.

4. After forming the numbers, a representative from each group will read the formed numbers aloud.
