Assumptions: This Active Lesson Plan assumes: a 100-minute class, prior student study with both the Book and the start of Project development, and that only one activity (among the three suggested) will be chosen to be conducted during the class, as each activity is designed to take up a significant portion of the available time.

- Description: In this activity, students will participate in a 'treasure hunt' where the treasure consists of words formed by the morphemes found on cards scattered throughout the room. Each card will contain a morpheme (prefix or suffix) and students will need to combine the cards to form complete words, noting the changes in meaning made by each morpheme.

- Instructions:

• Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

• Explain that each group will receive a set of cards with morphemes.

• Students should find other groups that have complementary cards to form complete words.

• Each word formed must be written in a notebook, along with an explanation of how the morpheme altered the original meaning of the base word.

• The first team to correctly form and explain all the words wins the activity.

Activity 2 - Word Builders

- Objective: Stimulate creativity and students’ morphological understanding, as well as develop writing and presentation skills.

• Organize students into groups of no more than 5 members.

• Distribute cards containing different prefixes and suffixes to each group.

• Subsequently, groups must use their words in sentences that make sense and are grammatically correct.
