Introduction

Duration: 10 - 15 minutes

The purpose of this stage is to introduce students to the concept of morality, emphasizing its importance in both individual and collective contexts. This introduction is essential for developing practical skills in moral reflection and analysis, fundamental not only for social coexistence but also for ethical behavior in the workplace.

Contextualization

Morality is a set of values and principles that guide human behavior in society. Since ancient times, morality has been fundamental for harmonious coexistence among individuals, regulating personal and collective actions and decisions. In our daily life, morality influences everything from small choices, such as honesty in a school test, to significant life decisions, such as how to conduct business. Morality is, therefore, the foundation for healthy relationships and just societies.

Curiosities and Market Connection

Curiosities and Market Connection:

History: Did you know that many codes of morality we follow today have roots in ancient philosophies, such as those of Aristotle and Confucius? Job Market: In the corporate environment, morality is essential for business ethics practices. Companies that promote moral values, such as integrity and responsibility, tend to have greater trust and loyalty from their customers. Business leaders often face moral dilemmas where they must balance profits with ethical practices. Practical Example: A technology company may face moral dilemmas when dealing with users' data privacy issues, deciding between maximizing data collection for profit or respecting customers' privacy.

Initial Activity

Initial Activity:

Short Video: Show a 3-minute video that presents a common moral dilemma in the workplace, such as the decision to report or not a witnessed unethical practice. Provocative Question: After watching the video, ask: 'What would you do if you were in the person's place in the video? What values are at stake?' Brief Discussion: Guide a brief discussion in small groups for students to reflect and share their opinions about the situation presented in the video.

Development

Duration: 50 - 55 minutes

The purpose of this stage is to deepen students' understanding of morality and its practical application, especially in the professional context. By engaging students in practical and reflective activities, the aim is to develop their critical analysis skills, teamwork, and communication, preparing them to face moral dilemmas in an ethical and responsible manner in the future.

  2. The importance of morality in social relationships
  3. Moral dilemmas in the workplace
  4. Historical and contemporary examples of morality

Reflections on the Theme

Guide students to reflect on how morality influences their daily decisions and the importance of maintaining ethical values in different contexts, both personal and professional. Ask: 'How do our actions reflect our moral values? And how does this impact our society and our work relationships?'

Mini Challenge

Moral Challenge: Building an Ethics Code

In this practical activity, students will create an ethics code for a fictional company, reflecting on the moral values that should guide the actions and decisions of the organization.

Instructions

  1. Divide students into groups of 4 to 5 people.
  2. Ask each group to choose a type of company (e.g., a technology company, a clothing store, a restaurant).
  3. Guide the groups to discuss and list the main moral values they believe are essential for the chosen company (e.g., honesty, respect, social responsibility).
  4. Based on the listed values, each group should create an ethics code with at least 5 guidelines that guide the behavior of the employees of the company.
  5. Ask each group to present the ethics code created to the class, explaining the reasons behind the choice of each guideline.

Objective: Promote reflection on the importance of morality in the workplace and develop teamwork and communication skills.

Evaluation Exercises

  1. List three moral values that you consider essential for good social coexistence and justify your choice.
  2. Describe a moral dilemma you have faced and how you resolved the situation.
  3. Explain how morality can influence a company's reputation in the market.

Conclusion

Duration: 15 - 20 minutes
