Assumptions: This Active Lesson Plan assumes: a 100-minute class, prior student study with both the Book and the start of Project development, and that only one activity (among the three suggested) will be chosen to be conducted during the class, as each activity is designed to take up a significant portion of the available time.

Objectives

Duration: (5 - 10 minutes)

The Objectives stage is essential for aligning students' learning expectations with the content that will be addressed in class. By clearly defining what is expected for students to learn, this section serves as a compass to guide both the teacher and the students during the lesson. Through the objectives, students can understand the importance of recognizing and understanding the different types of landforms and their implications, not only in geographic contexts but also in aspects such as climatology, agriculture, urbanization, among others.

Contextualization

Development

The Development section is designed for students to practically and interactively apply the knowledge acquired about landform types. - Description: In this activity, students will be divided into groups of up to 5 people and will take on the role of geographic explorers. Each group will receive a detailed world map and a series of cards with descriptions of different regions of the world, highlighting their landform types and geographic features. The challenge will be to map the regions described on the cards onto the world map, identifying mountains, plateaus, depressions, and plains, and discussing the possible influences of these landforms on human life and the local environment.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

  • Distribute a world map and a set of descriptive cards to each group.

  • Guide the students to read the cards and identify the described regions on the map.

  • Each group should discuss and note the possible influences of the landforms in the mapped regions.
