2. Recognize the importance of concentration, precision, and technique in these sports.

Side Objectives

  1. Identify similarities and differences among precision sports.
  2. Explore how skills in precision sports can be transferred to other areas of life.

Introduction

Duration: (15 - 20 minutes)

🎯 Purpose: The aim of this stage is to spark students' interest and curiosity about precision sports, encouraging them to engage actively with the topic from the beginning of the class. This establishes a solid foundation for the practical activities that will follow, allowing students to apply prior knowledge in a contextualized and meaningful way.

Warming Up

📱 Warm-up: Introduce the theme 'Precision Sports' by explaining that they are activities that require a lot of concentration, technique, and motor control. Examples include darts, croquet, curling, golf, billiards, bowling, shooting sports, and archery. Ask students to use their phones to find an interesting fact about one of these sports and share it with the class.

Initial Reflections

1. 🧠 Key Questions:

2. What precision sport have you practiced or would like to practice? Why?

3. What do you think is necessary to be good at a precision sport?

4. How can skills in precision sports be useful in other areas of life?

5. What are the similarities and differences between different precision sports?

6. Is any precision sport more popular in certain regions of the world? Why?

Development

Duration: (65 - 75 minutes)

The purpose of this stage is to consolidate students' knowledge about precision sports in a practical and collaborative manner. Using digital technologies, the activities aim to engage students and develop skills such as research, information synthesis, teamwork, and creativity. This playful and contextualized format makes learning more meaningful and dynamic.

Activity Suggestions

It is recommended that only one of the suggested activities be carried out

Activity 1 - 🔍 Precision Sports Detectives

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Develop research skills, information synthesis, and communication, promoting teamwork and creativity.

- Description: In this activity, students will become 'detectives' investigating the history, rules, and curiosities of precision sports. Using digital resources, they should create an explanatory video for a fictional YouTube channel, presenting their findings.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

  • Each group should choose a precision sport (darts, croquet, curling, golf, billiards, bowling, shooting sports, or archery).

  • Groups should research, using phones and computers with internet access, information about the history, rules, main championships, and curiosities of the chosen sport.

  • Based on the research, each group should create a script for a maximum 5-minute explanatory video.

  • Using their phones, students should record, edit, and finalize the video.

  • Videos can be edited using applications like InShot, KineMaster, or other available and easy-to-use software.

  • At the end, each group should present their video to the class as if they were launching it on YouTube.

Activity 2 - 🎮 Virtual Precision Sports Championship

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Promote the practice of precision sports digitally, fostering motor skills, strategic thinking, and teamwork.

- Description: Students will participate in a virtual precision sports championship, using simulators and digital games related to the studied sports. The activity will be gamified to increase engagement and promote healthy competition.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

  • Each group should choose a precision sport that has an available digital game or simulator (e.g., golf, billiards, bowling, archery, etc.).

  • Groups should come together and compete against each other in the chosen simulator or game.

  • Students can use phones or computers with access to these games. Suggested platforms include: MiniClip, Pogo, or specific apps in mobile app stores.

  • The teacher should create a digital scoring table (using Google Sheets or similar software) and track the groups' scores.

  • At the end, have a virtual award ceremony, highlighting the performance and sportsmanship of the participants.

Activity 3 - 📸 Digital Influencers of Precision Sports

> Duration: (60 - 70 minutes)

- Objective: Develop digital communication skills, creativity, and knowledge about precision sports, promoting teamwork and critical thinking.

- Description: Students will become 'digital influencers', creating and posting content on a fictional social media network about a precision sport, with the goal of engaging and informing their followers.

- Instructions:

  • Divide the class into groups of up to 5 students.

  • Each group should choose a precision sport.

  • Groups should create a fictional account on a social media platform (it can be a simulation using Google Slides, for example) for their 'digital influencer'.

  • Students should create varied posts: text, images, short videos (reels), stories, exploring curiosities, techniques, challenges, and interesting information about the chosen sport.

  • Groups should use image editing applications (like Canva) and video editing applications (like InShot) to create appealing content.

  • Each group should present their posts to the class, simulating the dynamics of a real social network.

  • At the end, students can vote on the most creative and informative content.

Feedback

Duration: (15 - 20 minutes)

📝 Purpose: The purpose of this stage is to promote a collective reflection on the activities carried out, allowing students to consolidate their learning through sharing experiences and receiving constructive feedback. This exchange of information and perceptions strengthens the understanding of precision sports and reinforces social skills, such as communication and empathy.

Group Discussion

🗣️ Group Discussion: After the activities, gather all students for a group discussion. Use the following script as a basis to introduce the discussion:

'Now that you have all had the chance to explore various precision sports in a practical and digital way, let's share what we learned. Each group will have a few minutes to talk about the discoveries they made, the difficulties they faced, and the strategies they used to create the videos, compete in virtual championships, or create digital influencer content. Let's reflect on how these activities helped us better understand precision sports and how we can apply these lessons in other areas of our lives.'

Reflections

1. 🤔 Reflection Questions: 2. What were the biggest challenges your group faced during the activities? 3. How did you solve the problems encountered throughout the process? 4. What was the most fun or interesting part of the activities for your group?

360° Feedback

👍 360° Feedback: Instruct students to provide constructive feedback to each other. Use a positive approach, emphasizing strengths and suggesting improvements in a respectful manner. Guide students to consider the following aspects when giving feedback:

Collaboration and teamwork. Creativity and innovation in the activities. Quality of presentations and created content.

For example, a student might say: 'I thought you were very creative in the way you presented the rules of golf, but perhaps you could have used more visual examples to facilitate understanding.'

Conclusion

Duration: (10 - 15 minutes)

🎯 Purpose: The purpose of this stage is to consolidate the learnings from the lesson, reflecting on how the activities not only enriched students' knowledge about precision sports but also contributed to the development of essential competencies for modern life. By connecting the content to the real world, this conclusion reinforces the practical relevance of what was learned. 💡
