Water and Community

Objectives (5 - 7 minutes)

  1. Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of water for human survival and for communities in general. This includes exploring the role of water in agriculture, industry, and energy generation, as well as its use in our homes for domestic purposes.

  2. Develop students' ability to assess and critically reflect on the challenges that communities face regarding access to clean water and basic sanitation. This involves discussing water scarcity, pollution, and water-related conflicts in different parts of the world.

  3. Encourage students to think about sustainable and innovative solutions to water problems faced by many communities. Students will be encouraged to consider efficient water use, conservation, and sustainable water resource management as possible solutions.

Secondary Objectives:

  • Raise students' awareness of the need to preserve and protect water resources, encouraging them to become active advocates for the environment and human rights.

  • Develop students' research and presentation skills as they seek information on water-related issues and communicate them clearly and effectively.

Introduction (10 - 12 minutes)
