Instructions

  1. Divide the students into groups of 4 to 5 members.
  2. Provide the following materials for each group: copper plate, copper sulfate solution, glass plate, copper wires, adhesive tape, small LED light bulb.
  3. Ask the students to follow these steps to build the prototype: Cut the copper plate into two equal pieces. Place one of the copper plates in fire until it turns black (copper oxide). Wait for the plate to cool and clean it lightly with a sponge. Place both copper plates inside a glass container, ensuring they do not touch each other. Fill the container with the copper sulfate solution until the plates are submerged. Connect the copper wires to the plates and secure them with adhesive tape. Connect the LED light bulb to the copper wires.
