Activity
Students will participate in a 'My Self-Portrait and Favorites' activity, fostering self-expression and peer interaction.
Students will be able to identify and express personal preferences and share basic information about themselves with peers.
Setup:
Prepare individual sheets of paper for each student. Provide crayons, markers, and glue sticks. If using pictures, have a selection of magazines or pre-printed images available, or instruct students to bring small pictures from home of their favorite things.
Student Tasks:
Teacher's Role:
Circulate among students, offering encouragement and assistance as needed. Ask open-ended questions about their drawings and favorite things to prompt discussion. Model how to share their own name and a favorite thing to demonstrate the activity. Facilitate the sharing session, ensuring every student has an opportunity to participate and feel heard.
Transitions:
After the sharing activity, collect the drawings. You may display them in the classroom or send them home as a keepsake.
