It is present in all cultures, from all parts of the world, and is an incredible way to tell stories, express feelings, and celebrate life.

In our project, we will explore two very important ideas: 'Community Context' and 'Regional Context'. But what does this mean? Well, when we talk about 'Community Context', we are referring to dances that arise within communities, those places where we live, study, and have fun with our friends and family. On the other hand, 'Regional Context' encompasses dances that are typical of a region, such as a state or a country. They are influenced by the culture, traditions, and customs of that place.

Practical Activity

Activity Title: 'Our Dance, Our Culture'

Project Objective:

The objective of this project is to allow you, little dancers, to explore and learn about the dances of your 'Community Context' and 'Regional Context'. You will research, create, and present a dance that represents your community and/or region.

Detailed Project Description:

In this activity, you will work in groups to create a dance. We will divide the project into two parts: in the first part, you will research the dances of your 'Community Context' and 'Regional Context'; in the second part, you will create a dance based on what you have learned.

Necessary Materials:

• Paper and pencil to take notes on research and ideas
• Access to the internet or books for research
• Comfortable clothes and shoes for dancing practice
• Adequate space to rehearse and present the dance

Step by Step:

1. Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will choose a leader who will be responsible for organizing the group's work.

2. Each group should research a dance from their 'Community Context' and one from the 'Regional Context'. You can use the internet, books, or interview people who know these dances.

3. While conducting the research, write down some important information, such as: the name of the dance, where it comes from, what are the characteristic movements and rhythms, what is the meaning or history of this dance.

4. After researching, each group should choose one of the dances to create their own version. You can change some movements if you want, but it is important to maintain the essence of the original dance.

5. Now it's time to rehearse! At first, it may seem a bit difficult, but don't give up. Remember, the important thing is to have fun while learning.

6. When the dance is ready, you will prepare a presentation for the class. Get together, discuss, and plan how the presentation will be. Remember, everyone should participate!

7. Finally, each group will perform their dance for the class. After the presentations, we will discuss what we have learned and how the experience of creating our own dance was.

Delivery Format:

Each group must present their dance to the class and submit the research notes they made. You can draw the dance movements, write about what you learned and how the creation process was, or even make a short video explaining all of this. The important thing is that everyone in the group participates and that the delivery is done in an organized and creative way.
