Reading Planning

Contextualization

Introduction

Hi everyone! Today we are going to embark on an incredible and challenging adventure: Reading Planning. Do you know what that is? Well, reading planning is like a trip we take, but instead of taking a plane or a bus, we take a book, a story, a tale, and even a poem! These are our vehicles, and through them, we visit incredible places, meet fantastic characters, and learn valuable lessons.

But, just like any trip, we need good planning. There's no point in picking up any book and starting to read without a purpose, without a direction. That's where reading planning comes in. It helps us choose the best books, set the time we're going to spend reading, and better understand what we're reading.

Why is it important?

Now, you may be wondering, "Why is it important to plan my reading?". Well, the answer is simple: when we plan our reading, we can make the most of it! In addition, reading planning helps us develop several skills, such as reading fluency, text comprehension, the ability to interpret and relate ideas and, of course, the taste for reading.

Reading is a powerful tool that helps us better understand the world, develop our imagination and creativity, and become better at everything we do, whether at school, at home, or in our daily lives. And reading planning is the key that helps us open the doors to this wonderful world of books!

So, are you ready to embark on this adventure? Let's discover the incredible universe of planned reading together!

Practical Activity

Activity Title: "Our Literary Journey: Planning and Exploring the World of Books"

Purpose

The goal of this project is to develop students' reading planning skills, improve text comprehension, and encourage teamwork.

Description

In this project, each group will plan a reading journey, where they will have to choose two books to read, set up a reading schedule, and create fun activities related to the chosen books. The project will involve reading the books, discussing the stories, doing the proposed activities, and presenting the results to the class.

Required Materials

  • Storybooks (two for each group)
  • Paper, pencils, colored pens, etc.
  • Materials for making activities (cardboard, glue, scissors, etc.)
  • Computer and printer (for research and production of materials, if available)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Forming Groups: Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will receive two storybooks.

  2. Choosing Books: In each group, students should discuss and choose two books that they want to read. They should consider the age range of the books, the topic, the diversity of genres, etc.

  3. Reading Plan: After choosing the books, students should create a reading plan. They should define a schedule, establishing when and how much time they will dedicate to reading each book.

  4. Reading the Books: Students should start reading the books according to the established plan. They can read at home, at school, or anywhere they consider adequate.

  5. Discussing the Stories: After reading each book, students should meet to discuss the story, characters, setting, events, etc. They should write down their reflections and ideas.

  6. Creating the Activities: Based on the discussions held, students should create two fun activities related to each book read. The activities can be a game, a dramatization, a puzzle, a drawing, a poem, etc. Creativity is very welcome!

  7. Presenting the Results: Finally, each group should present the books read, the reading plan, the activities created, and the reflections made for the class. The presentation can be made orally, with the aid of posters, drawings, models, videos, among others.

Remember, the most important thing is to have fun during the journey and learn from the readings! Good luck, literary adventurers!
