Project Description

'Syllable Hunt' is a game that invites students to explore words and discover their syllabic formation. Groups will create a treasure hunt scenario, where the syllables hidden in different objects must be found and noted.

Required Materials

1. Paper and pencil for each group
2. Colored cardboards or paper
3. Blunt scissors
4. Glue
5. Old magazines
6. Illustrated dictionary (optional)

Step by Step

1. Group Organization: Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group is a team of syllable hunters!

2. Scenario Preparation: Using colored cardboards or paper, groups should create a treasure hunt scenario. They can draw landscapes, castles, pirate ships, whatever their imagination dictates. Remember that the objects in the scenario will be the 'hiding places' of syllables.

3. Cutting Out Syllables: Now, with the old magazines, each group should cut out letters and syllables. If they find the picture of an object in the illustrated dictionary, they can cut out the whole word and divide it into syllables. For example, if they find the picture of an apple, they can cut out the word 'apple' and divide it into 'ap' and 'ple'.

4. Hiding the Syllables: Groups must scatter the cut-out syllables throughout the scenario they created. Each syllable should be hidden in a different place.

5. Treasure Hunt: Now, the most fun part of the game! Each group will receive a list of words. They must explore the scenario, find the hidden syllables, and form the words from the list.

6. Recording Discoveries: Each time a group finds a syllable and forms a word, they should write down the complete word on paper, along with the syllables that make up that word.
