Reading Planning is a strategy that helps us organize and manage our reading time. Through it, we can set goals, choose the books we want to read, divide the reading time into parts, and even track our progress. This way, we can read more, in a more efficient and enjoyable way.

Now you must be wondering: 'Why is it important to learn about Reading Planning?' Well, reading is a fundamental activity in our lives. Through it, we can learn, inform ourselves, and have fun.

When we learn to plan our reading, we start reading more consciously and profitably. This means that, besides having fun, you will also learn a lot more from books. Additionally, reading planning also helps us develop important skills such as organization, time management, and discipline.

Now, imagine if you, from a young age, already had this superpower of planning your reading? You would be able to read more, in a more efficient and enjoyable way. Practical Activity: 'The Reader's Journey'

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to teach students the importance of reading planning and how to do it. Through playful activities, students will develop skills such as organization, time management, and discipline, as well as promote a love for reading.

Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5, will create 'The Reader's Journey' - a playful map that will illustrate the reading planning process. Each stage of the map will represent an important action in reading planning, such as choosing the book, defining the reading time, and evaluating progress.

Necessary Materials

• Cardboards or card paper (1 per group)
• Colored pencils, markers, crayons
• Blunt scissors
• Glue
• Magazines, newspapers, and printouts for cutting (optional)
• Various books (for the group to choose)

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Form groups of 3 to 5 students.

2. Book Selection: Each group must choose a book to be the theme of their map. It can be a storybook, an activity book, a comic book, etc.

3. Map Elaboration: On a cardboard or card paper, students will draw the map. This map should contain the following stages:

   • Stage 1: Book Selection: Where the group will describe how they chose the book and why they would like to read it.

   • Stage 2: Definition of Reading Time: Where the group will establish a time for reading the book. It can be 10 minutes per day, 2 chapters per week, etc.

   • Stage 3: Progress Monitoring: Where the group will mark the reading progress. It can be through drawings, words, stickers, etc.

   • Stage 4: Reading Evaluation: Where the group will evaluate the book reading. They can talk about what they liked the most, what they liked the least, what they learned, etc.

4. Map Decoration: Students will decorate the map with drawings, magazine cutouts, words, stickers, etc.

5. Map Presentation: Each group will present their map to the class. During the presentation, students must explain each stage of the map and how they planned the book reading.

6. Book Reading: Finally, students will read the chosen book following the planning made on the map.
