Activity Title: "Our Community, A Mosaic of Interactions"

Project Objective

The main objective of this project is for you, young geographers, to understand how people interact within the community where they live and how these interactions influence everyone's life. Additionally, we want you to learn to work in teams, to respect colleagues' ideas, and to think creatively to solve problems.

Project Description

You will work in groups of 3 to 5 students to create a "Map of Our Community." This map should include the main locations of the community and, more importantly, show the different interactions that occur in these places. For example, you can draw a school and show how students interact with each other, with teachers, and with the community. Or you can draw a market and show how people go there to buy food, but also to meet friends and talk.

But remember, the most important thing is not only to show the interactions, but also to understand why they happen and how they influence the community's life. For example, why do people from the community go to the market? And why is it important for the community to have a school?

Required Materials

1. Large paper (cardboard, kraft paper, etc.)
2. Colored pencils, markers, crayons
3. Ruler
4. Magazine cutouts (optional)
5. Glue (optional)

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: The teacher will form groups of 3 to 5 students.

2. Research and Planning: Each group should research about their community, talk to people who live there, visit the locations if possible, and discuss the interactions that occur in those places. Then, they should plan how they will represent these interactions on the map.

3. Map Creation: Now it's time to get to work! On the large paper, you will draw your community and the locations where the main interactions take place.
