My dear students, our incredible journey through time continues! We have already explored different periods in history, from prehistoric times, through the great ancient civilizations, until we reached the Middle Ages. Now, it is time for us to take a step forward in time and study the "Community and Social Interactions" in the Modern Age.

When we talk about "Community", we are referring to a group of people who live together, sharing customs, traditions, and of course, social interactions. The "Social Interactions" are linked to the way we relate to other people.

In this period of history, we witnessed the rise of major events that shaped the world we live in today. Maritime expansion, the discovery of new lands, the trade between different peoples, and the transformation of feudalism into a more modern system are just some examples. All these events had a great impact on the communities and on the social interactions of that time.

Introduction

Within communities, many activities take place. In the countryside, for example, people come together to cultivate the land and, later, to harvest the fruits of their labor. In the city, on the other hand, people gather to carry out different tasks, such as the artisans who produce goods for sale and the children who go to school to learn.

Social interactions are also very important. It is through these interactions that people learn from each other, share their experiences, and build relationships of friendship or conflict. Furthermore, social interactions make it possible for communities to stay united and to continue developing.

In this project, we will explore these concepts in a very fun and practical way. You will form small groups and, together, you will create a Model of a Community in the Modern Age. This model will be the setting for a series of activities that will simulate the social interactions that took place at that time. Are you ready? Let's embark on this adventure together!

Practical Activity: Model of a Community in the Modern Age

Objective of the Project

The objective of this project is for students, in groups, to build a model of a community in the Modern Age, representing the different areas and activities that existed at that time. In addition, the students will carry out activities in the model, simulating the social interactions that took place in the community.

Detailed Description of the Project

The students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be responsible for planning and building a model of a community in the Modern Age. The model should represent different areas and activities of the community, such as houses, squares, churches, fields, mills, etc. Each area should have a purpose, such as the cultivation area, the commercial area, the residential area, etc.

After building the model, the students will carry out activities in the community. For example, in the cultivation area, they can plant seeds and care for the plants. In the commercial area, they can simulate the buying and selling of products. In the residential area, they can represent the social interactions between the inhabitants. And so on.

Necessary Materials

1. Large cardboard box (for the base of the model)
2. Cardboard, paper, glue, scissors, tape, paint, brushes (for building the model)
3. Seeds, soil, watering can (for the cultivation area)
4. Toys, miniatures, drawings (to represent the inhabitants of the community)
5. Other recyclable materials, such as toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, etc. (for building elements of the model)

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: The students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members.

2. Model Planning: Each group will plan what their model will look like. They must decide which areas the community will have, where each area will be located, and what each area will represent.

3. Model Building: With the available material, the students will build the model of the community, following the plan they made. They should think about the details and the decoration of each area.

4. Activities in the Model: After building the model, the students will carry out activities in the community, simulating the social interactions that took place at that time. They should think about activities that fit into the context of their community.

5. Model Presentation: Finally, the groups will present their model and the activities they carried out to the class. They must explain how they planned and built the model, what activities were carried out, and what they learned from the project.

The final delivery of the project will be the presentation of the model and a short report, made in a group, describing the process of building the model and the activities carried out. The report must be illustrated with drawings or photos of the model and the activities.
