Similarly, an old letter can reveal details about the life of the person who wrote it, the people they knew, and even the historical events that were happening at that time.

Now, imagine if we could gather all these little 'pieces of memory' to form a big puzzle of the past. It would be like traveling back in time, wouldn't it? And that's exactly what historians do. They study the objects and memories they left behind to help us better understand the world we live in today.

Introduction

In this project, we will explore the relationship between objects and memory in a fun and practical way. You will work in groups to choose an ancient object, such as a toy, a book, a photograph, or anything else you find interesting. Then, you will discover more about the history of this object, who made it, how it was used, why it was important, etc.

Afterwards, you will share your findings with the class in a creative way. It can be through a presentation, a drawing, a model, a game, or anything else you come up with. The ultimate goal is to learn more about how objects and memory are connected and, at the same time, have a lot of fun while doing it.

Practical Activity: 'The Story of My Object'

Project Objective

This project aims to help students understand how objects from the past are connected to memory and history, developing research, communication, teamwork, and creativity skills.

Project Description

Students, in groups of 3 to 5 people, will choose an ancient object that belongs to their family or someone they know (books, toys, tools, clothes, photographs, etc.). They should research the history of this object, finding out when and where it was made, how it was used, why it was important, and any other interesting information they come across.

Necessary Materials

• Ancient objects chosen by the students
• Internet access (with supervision)
• History books (if available)
• Paper and pen for notes
• Materials for the creation of the final project (colored papers, glue, scissors, etc.)

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Students divide into groups of 3 to 5 people.

2. Object Selection: Each group chooses an ancient object to research. It can be an object from their family or someone they know.

3. Research: Groups research the history of the chosen object. They can use the internet (with adult supervision), history books (if available), or even interview people who know something about the object.

4. Notes: During the research, students should take notes on what they discover. They should note when and where the object was made, how it was used, why it was important, and any other interesting information they find.

5. Presentation Preparation: Based on their notes, groups should prepare a presentation about the history of the object. They can use posters, drawings, models, games, or anything else that helps to tell the story of their object in an interesting way.

6. Class Presentation: Each group presents their research to the class. They should explain what they learned about the history of their object and how it connects to memory and history.

7. Object Exhibition: After the presentations, all objects collected by the groups will be displayed in an exhibition in the classroom. Each object will have a small label with information about its history, which the students should write.

Delivery Format

Students will deliver the project in the form of an oral presentation to the class, accompanied by an ancient object they have chosen for the research.
