In our daily lives, we are constantly dealing with numbers. When we go to the supermarket, we are buying a quantity of items - and for that, we need to know how to count. When we play a board game, we need to count the steps we take. Even when we watch a movie or read a book, we are following a sequence of events, which we can also think of as a count.
Introduction
Counting natural numbers is a fundamental skill in mathematics. It allows us to understand the order of numbers, the relationship between them, and helps us solve everyday problems. To count, we use a sequence of numbers in the right order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on. When we reach the end of this sequence, we add a digit and start counting again: 10, 11, 12, 13...
To count up to 1000, we need to understand the relationship between numbers and the position of each digit. For example, when we count up to 99, the next number is 100. This happens because the 1 in the number 100 represents a new hundred, just like the 1 in the number 10 represents a new ten.

Each student in the group will have the task of drawing and coloring a part of this timeline, making the learning process more fun and collaborative.

- Large sheets of poster paper or cardboard
- Ruler
- Colored pencils and/or crayons
- Colored pens
- Glue
- Scissors
Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

Group Formation: Divide the class into groups of 3 to 5 students.

Material Preparation: Each group should receive a large sheet of poster paper or cardboard, ruler, colored pencils and/or crayons, colored pens, glue, and scissors.

Drawing the Timeline: On the sheet, draw a straight horizontal line along the entire page. This line will be our numerical timeline.

Division into Sections: Divide the timeline into sections to help with organization. For example, you can separate between 1 and 100, 101 and 200, and so on.

Coloring the Timeline: Now, each student will fill in and color a section of the numerical timeline. For example, one student can be responsible for coloring the section of numbers from 1 to 100, while another student takes the section of numbers from 101 to 200, and so on. You can use different colors for each section, this will help visualize the timeline better.
