Hello, dear students! Today, we are going to embark on a fascinating journey through the world of numbers. Have you ever stopped to think about how important numbers are in our lives? They are present in everything we do, from counting how many apples we have in the basket to calculating what time your favorite show will start.

Mathematics, which is the discipline that studies numbers, helps us better understand the world around us. And to start our journey, let's get to know the Natural Numbers Less than 100. Do you know what these numbers are? They are all the numbers we use in our daily lives, like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... until we reach 100, which is the largest number we can use in this category.

Introduction

Natural numbers less than 100 are very important. With them, we can perform various mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. They also help us better understand the order of things, like when we use them to organize a list of players on a team, sort the books in the library, or count the students in the classroom.

Did you know that numbers have a specific sequence? Look: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... and so on. Each number in the sequence is the next number after the previous one. For example, the number 2 comes after the number 1, the number 3 comes after the number 2, and so on.

We are going to use a very important tool to study this sequence: Numbers and Operations. With it, you will learn to do calculations with these numbers and solve everyday problems. Very interesting, isn't it?

Activity Title: "The Path of Numbers"

Project Objective:

The objective of this project is to allow you to explore and better understand the natural numbers less than 100, their sequence, and their properties in a playful and fun way. Additionally, you will practice important socio-emotional skills, such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and time management.

Detailed Project Description:

In this activity, you will create a large "Path of Numbers" on the classroom floor, from 1 to 100. Each group will be responsible for a section of the path and will have to perform various tasks involving the numbers along the way. In the end, each group will present their "Path of Numbers" to the class, explaining the tasks performed and the discoveries made.

Required Materials:

1. Cardboard or cardstock
2. Colored pens, crayons, or colored pencils
3. Ruler
4. Blunt scissors
5. Glue
6. Old magazines (for cutting)
7. Tape
8. A4 paper (for notes)

Step-by-Step for Activity Execution:

1. Group Formation: Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will be responsible for a section of the "Path of Numbers".

2. Creation of the "Path of Numbers": Each group will draw the numbers from 1 to 100 on a strip of cardboard or cardstock. The numbers should be in order, as if they were a road. Use colored pens, crayons, or colored pencils to make the path beautiful and colorful.

3. Task Division: Within each group, divide the tasks among the members. You will have to perform the following tasks along the "Path of Numbers":

   • Counting: Count the numbers from 1 to 100 out loud, together. This will help reinforce the sequence of numbers.

   • Even and Odd Numbers: Identify and mark on the path which numbers are even and which are odd. Think of a creative way to differentiate them.

   • Multiples of 5: Find and mark on the path all numbers that are multiples of 5.

   • Addition and Subtraction: Choose three numbers and perform addition and subtraction between them. Write down the result on paper.

   • Mathematical Problems: Create three mathematical problems using the numbers from the path and the operations of addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Try to solve the problems together and write down the answers.

4. Report Elaboration: At the end of the activities, each group must create a report telling what they did, the discoveries they made about the numbers and mathematical operations, and the answers to the mathematical problems. Use the A4 paper sheets to write the report.

5. Presentation to the Class: Each group will present their "Path of Numbers" to the class. In the presentation, show the path you created, explain the tasks you performed and the discoveries you made. Don't forget to show the report to the class as well!
