Introduction

All forms of life on Earth, from the smallest ant to the largest tree, are connected. Plants are living beings that use sunlight to produce their own food, a process called photosynthesis. They provide the oxygen that we, animals, need to live and are a source of food for various beings.

Animals, on the other hand, move, eat other organisms to survive, and have the ability to respond to environmental stimuli, such as sound and light. However, there is something that plants and animals have in common: they are both living beings and have cells, the smallest unit of life.

Key concepts like these help us to understand more deeply the world around us. By understanding the characteristics of plants and animals, we are able to respect and value living beings even more. Knowing how to differentiate them is an essential step for the preservation of our planet.

Detailed Project Description

Each group will choose an animal and a plant to study. You should collect information, make drawings, and put together a presentation to share your discoveries with the class. Remember, you don't need to go to dangerous or distant places for this, you can explore the school garden, your backyard, or even use books and the internet!

Required Materials

1. Paper and pencil for notes and drawings.
2. Books or internet access for research.
3. Cardboard, colored pens, glue, and scissors to assemble the presentation.
4. Camera or cell phone (if available, under adult supervision).
5. Collected natural materials (leaves, seeds, feathers), if available and without harming the environment.

Detailed Step-by-Step

1. Group Formation: Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group is a team of nature explorers!

2. Choose the Plant and Animal: Each group chooses a plant and an animal to study. They can be beings you find on the way to school, in your home garden, or even those you have only heard of.

3. Research: Research their physical characteristics, where they live, what they eat, how they reproduce, etc. Use books, the internet, and if possible, observe the plant and animal you chose in nature.
