But what are 'text types'? Well, when we talk about texts, we are referring to anything we read or write: from a book to a birthday card, from a cake recipe to a note we leave at home for mom. And each of them can be classified into different types, according to their form and function.

Now, you may be wondering: 'Why should I learn about this?'. And the answer is simple: because text types are like keys that open doors to different worlds. When we know how to recognize and use the different text types, we can express ourselves more effectively, we can better understand what we read and hear, and we can even travel to distant places without leaving our spot, all through words.

Introduction

In this project, we will explore three essential types of texts: Narrative, Informative, and Instructive. The Narrative text type is one that tells a story, presenting characters, a setting, and a sequence of events. The Informative text type aims to convey information, such as news, biographies, scientific texts, among others. Finally, the Instructive text type is used to give instructions on how to do something, like a cake recipe, an instruction manual, among others.

Now, you will divide into groups of 3 to 5 explorers, and each group will be responsible for exploring one of these text types more deeply. You will discover how these texts are made, create your own texts, and present them to the class. Are you ready for our great adventure? Then, let's go!

Practical Activity: 'Exploring Text Types'

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to explore, in a playful and creative way, the Narrative, Informative, and Instructive text types. Students will have the opportunity to learn the difference between text types, improve their reading and writing skills, and develop socio-emotional skills, such as teamwork, time management, and communication.

Detailed Project Description

The student groups will be divided into three different 'missions', each focused on one type of text. Each mission will consist of two steps: Learn and Create.

In the first step, Learn, students should research the assigned text type, using textbooks, the internet, and the teacher's help. They should learn the main characteristics of the text type, examples, and its structure.

In the second step, Create, students should create an example of the text type they studied. For example, if the text type is 'narrative', they can write a short story; if it is 'informative', they can create an informative poster on a topic of interest; if it is 'instructive', they can develop a recipe for a dish they like.

Finally, each group will present their creation to the class, explaining what they learned about the text type and how they used it.

1. Choose a recipe for a dish you like.
2. Write the recipe, following the structure of an instructive text.

After completing all the Missions, each group will present their creations to the class, explaining what they learned and how they applied the knowledge about text types.
