Introduction and Contextualization
Introduction
Dance is one of the most expressive forms of art we use to communicate our emotions, tell stories, and even understand our cultures. Did you know that we can categorize different types of dance into collectives? A dance collective is a group of people who share a love for dance and collaborate to create dance performances together.
Dance collectives can vary in style, size, and purpose, but they all have something in common: they allow dancers to work together, learn from each other, and create something greater than they could alone.
They are very important because they teach us the value of teamwork, joint effort, and collaboration. At the same time, they help develop personal skills such as perseverance, discipline, creativity, and communication.
Contextualization
In school, practices like dance collectives can become an excellent tool to explore new forms of learning and develop vital skills. For example, have you ever thought about forming your own dance collective at school? This could be a wonderful opportunity to express your creativity, meet new friends, and learn to work as a team.
School dance collectives are not just about dancing. They are about building communities, strengthening relationships, and promoting an environment of respect and mutual support. Through this activity, you will not only have the chance to enjoy dance but also learn valuable lessons that go beyond the classroom.
So, are you ready to dive into the wonderful world of dance collectives? Let's embark on this exciting journey together and see where it takes us!
Practical Activity
Activity Title: "Creation and Presentation of Our Dance Collective"
Project Objective:
- Develop students' understanding of dance collectives.
- Provide an opportunity to work as a team, create a dance, and present it to the class.
- Stimulate creative expression, communication, and time management.
Detailed Project Description:
In groups of 3 to 5, you will become a Dance Collective! Each group will create a brief dance presentation, lasting 2 to 3 minutes. The dance theme is free, the important thing is that everyone participates and has fun!
Each Dance Collective must choose a leader, who will be responsible for organizing rehearsals and contacting the teacher.
Required Materials:
- Open space for rehearsals
- Soundtrack for the dance (you can use the school's computer room to find the music)
Step-by-Step Guide for the Activity:
Part One: Forming the Collective
- Divide into groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will be a Dance Collective.
- Choose a name for your collective.
- Within the group, choose a leader. The leader will be responsible for organizing the group and contacting the teacher.
Part Two: Creating the Dance
- As a group, choose a music for your dance. Remember, the music needs to be appropriate for school.
- After choosing the music, it's time to create the dance. Each person should contribute at least one movement to the dance. Remember, the dance should last the duration of the chosen music.
- Rehearse the dance several times until everyone feels comfortable with the movements.
Part Three: Presentation
- Prepare for the presentation. Practice the dance a few more times and make sure everyone is comfortable with the movements.
- Perform a presentation for the class. Each Dance Collective will present their dance to the class. The presentation will be recorded for the teacher's evaluation.
This activity is designed to be completed within a week. Remember to manage your time well and communicate with the other group members.
You will submit a brief report with your collective's name, the list of members, the title of the music you chose, and a description of the steps in your dance. Additionally, you should record the presentation of your dance for evaluation. Good luck, and have a lot of fun!
