Project Objective

This project aims to allow students to explore the concept of 'Space: Public and Domestic' in a practical and interactive way. Additionally, it seeks to promote teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.

Detailed Project Description

In this activity, students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be tasked with creating two dioramas: one representing a public space and another representing a domestic space in different historical periods. The dioramas will be accompanied by small explanatory texts, written by the students, which should contextualize the space and the time in which they were created.

1. Shoeboxes (one for each diorama)

Step by Step

1. Group Division and Definition of Historical Periods: Divide the class into groups and assign a different historical period to each group (for example: Prehistory, Antiquity, Middle Ages, Age of Discoveries, Industrial Era, among others).

2. Research: The students, in their groups, should research the architecture, customs, and characteristics of public and domestic spaces from the historical period assigned to them. They can use textbooks, encyclopedias, reliable websites, and the school library to conduct this research.

3. Planning and Creation of Dioramas: After the research, the students should sketch what they intend to create in their dioramas. They can use paper and pencil for this. Then, using the provided materials, they should create the dioramas, one representing a public space and the other a domestic space from the chosen historical period.

4. Explanatory Text: For each diorama, the students should write a brief explanatory text (3 to 5 sentences) about the represented space, the historical period in which it existed, and the main characteristics of the space and society of that time.

5. Presentation: Each group must present their dioramas and give a brief explanation about the spaces and historical periods they represent.
