Migration is a phenomenon that has been happening since the beginning of time. Since the dawn of humanity, our ancestors were already moving in search of food, fleeing dangers, or even looking for new lands to live. And this mass movement of people throughout history has had, and still has, a great impact on the world we live in.

Introduction

Migration is one of the main factors that influence the formation of societies. It is responsible for the cultural diversity that exists on our planet. Think about it, if it weren't for migration, how would we be able to experience different cuisines, hear different languages, get to know new cultures? All of this is the result of people's movement throughout history.

Throughout the ages, different groups of people migrated for various reasons. For example, during the Age of Exploration, many Europeans migrated to the American continent in search of wealth. In the 19th century, many Chinese migrated to the United States in search of better living conditions. And in the 20th century, during the World Wars, many people migrated to other countries in search of safety. These are just a few examples of how migration has shaped the history of our world.

Understanding migration and its reasons is, therefore, essential for us to understand the world we live in. It helps us understand the relationships between different peoples, social and cultural changes, and even the challenges we face today, such as the issue of refugees. Practical Activity - 'Traveling through History: Migration around the World'

Project Objective

Project Description

In this project, you will divide into groups of 3 to 5 students and choose a historical migration event to research. You will create a visual and oral presentation about the chosen event, explaining the reasons for the migration, the places of origin and destination, and the impact that this migration had on the formation of the societies involved.

• History textbooks
• Reference books on migration
• Internet access for research
• Cardboard paper, colored paper, markers, glue, scissors (for the visual part of the presentation)

Step by Step

1. Choosing the Migration Event: Each group must choose a historical migration event to research. The presentation should include the reasons for the migration, the places of origin and destination, and the impact that this migration had on the formation of the societies involved. Use cardboard paper, colored paper, markers, glue, and scissors to create a beautiful and creative presentation.

4. Practicing the Presentation: After preparing the presentation, it's time to practice! Each group member should know well what they are going to say and how they will show the information in the visual presentation. Practice in front of the mirror, for your family, or even record a video of the presentation.
