This interaction is responsible for many of the processes that occur in the soil, such as the formation of layers (horizons) and the decomposition of organic matter.
In addition, soil also plays a fundamental role in climate regulation. This is because soil is capable of storing large amounts of water, which are released slowly into the atmosphere, helping to maintain air humidity. Furthermore, soil is also capable of storing carbon, one of the main gases responsible for global warming.

Project Objective

Project Description
In this project, you, little scientists, will create an interactive "Soil Map." In this map, you will represent the different uses of soil (such as agriculture, forests, urban areas) and discuss how each of these uses can impact the soil. You will also think of ways to take better care of our soil.
Required Materials
- Large cardboard or poster board
- Colored pencils, markers, crayons
- Blunt scissors
- Glue
- Old magazines (for cutting and pasting)
- White paper
- Ruler
- Plasticine or modeling clay
Step by Step

Group Formation: You will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 students.
