But what does that mean? Well, to understand, let's imagine that language is a big puzzle, and each word is an important piece to put together the complete meaning of a sentence, a paragraph, or even a whole text.

Now, you must be wondering: why is it important to know about text information? Well, the answer is simple: often, when we read a text, we don't realize the amount of information it provides us. And, to better understand what we are reading, we need to identify this information and understand how they relate to each other.

You may have noticed that in a story, some parts are more important than others, right? Some give us information about the main character, others about the place where the story takes place, and so on. In the text, it's the same thing! Each part of it has a specific function, and when we know how to identify these parts, we can better understand what the author is trying to tell us.

Introduction

Text Information, as the name suggests, are the ideas, facts, concepts, and opinions that are present in the text and help us understand its meaning. They can be explicit, that is, clearly expressed by the author, or implicit, that is, deduced by us, readers, from the context and the words used.

Furthermore, texts are made up of different parts, and each of them plays a fundamental role in conveying information. For example, the title gives us a general idea of what we are going to read, the introduction paragraph presents the subject, the development presents the arguments and main information, and the conclusion summarizes what was said.

Now, you must be wondering: how can we identify this information and parts of the text? Well, that's what we are going to learn together in this project! Let's discover that, with attention and a little practice, we can decipher the secrets of texts and improve our reading comprehension. Practical Activity: Discovering Text Information

Project Objective

Develop students' ability to identify and understand text information, as well as recognize the different parts that make up a text, such as title, introduction, development, and conclusion.

Project Description

Students, divided into small groups, should choose a well-known fairy tale and, through careful and creative reading, identify the text information and the parts that compose it. After reading, each group will build a model that represents the chosen fairy tale, using recyclable materials. The model should contain elements that refer to the different parts of the text. Finally, each group will present their model to the class, explaining the text information and the parts they represented.

Necessary Materials

• Fairy tales (one for each group)
• Paper and pencil for notes
• Recyclable materials (cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, bottle caps, newspapers, magazines, etc.)
• Glue, scissors, tape

Step by Step

1. Divide the class into groups of 3 to 5 students.

2. Distribute a fairy tale to each group. Instruct them to read carefully and identify the text information and the parts that compose it (title, introduction, development, and conclusion). They can take notes if they want.

3. After reading, each group should discuss and choose which elements of the text will be represented in the model. For example, the title can be represented at the entrance of the model, the introduction can be represented by the beginning of the story, the development by the middle, and the conclusion by the end of the model.

4. Using recyclable materials, the groups should build the model of the chosen fairy tale, in a way that represents the text information and its parts.

5. Encourage creativity and collaboration among group members. For example, they can use drawings, magazine cutouts, paintings, to enrich the model.

6. After completing the model, each group should prepare a presentation for the class, explaining the text information they chose to represent and the parts of the model that correspond to the parts of the text.

7. Finally, each group will present their model to the class. After the presentation, classmates can ask questions and make comments.
