Verbs, on the other hand, unlike Nouns, do not name, but rather indicate actions, states, natural phenomena, and even feelings. They are like the movements of the waves in the sea, always in action. For example, jump, run, study, dance, and love are verbs. They give life to our sentences.

Practical Activity: "The Great Sea of Words"

Project Objective

In this hands-on activity, each group will be responsible for creating a large illustrated panel with several written and drawn words representing Nouns and Verbs. The goal is for students to practice identifying and classifying words while working in teams, encouraging cooperation and creativity.

Project Description

Each team will receive a large sheet of brown paper (or TNT fabric) on which they will draw a beach scene. In this scene, they should write and draw various words representing Nouns and Verbs. The words should be properly classified, that is, identified as either Nouns or Verbs.

Required Materials

• Brown paper poster or TNT fabric
• Colored pens
• Colored pencils
• Ruler
• Old magazines (for cutting and pasting)
• Blunt scissors
• Glue

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Divide the class into groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will receive a poster and the other materials.

2. Creating the Scenario: Using colored pens and pencils, students should draw a beach scene on the poster. They can draw the sun, the sea, the sand, the seagulls, coconut trees, seashells, etc. This setting is where the words will be "placed".

3. Word Identification: Together, the students should think of different words that can be placed in the scene. They can think of nouns like names of animals, objects, places, as well as verbs that represent possible actions on the beach.

4. Word Classification: After thinking about the words, the group should identify whether each word is a Noun or a Verb. They can do this by discussing among themselves and with the help of the teacher.

5. Writing and Drawing the Words: In the drawn scene, students should write the words, with their proper classification, and make a drawing that represents each of them. For example, for the word "fish" (noun), a fish swimming in the sea could be drawn.

6. Panel Presentation: At the end, each group should present its panel to the class, explaining the words they chose and why they classified them as Nouns or Verbs.
