Introduction
Have you ever stopped to think about what it would be like to live in a world without professions? Without people to build our houses, cultivate our food, take care of our health? Professions are the foundation of society, they ensure that all our needs are met. And not only that, professions are also responsible for bringing innovation, creativity, and progress to the world.
The Importance of Professions
Professions are an integral part of our daily lives and play a fundamental role in our lives. They provide the services and products we need to live well. Imagine not having doctors to take care of our health, not having teachers to educate us, not having engineers to build our houses, or scientists to discover new medications. All fields of work are important and contribute to the development of society.

Practical Activity: "My Profession in English"
Project Objective
The objective of this project is to develop students' research, communication, and collaboration skills, as well as expand their vocabulary in English. Each group will research a specific profession, learn its vocabulary in English, and present their findings to the class.
Project Description
Each group will be responsible for researching a specific profession (e.g. teacher, doctor, engineer, etc.), learning the English vocabulary related to that profession, and preparing a short presentation for the class. The presentation should include the definition of the profession, the main tasks performed, the qualities and skills required, and some interesting facts.
Materials Needed
- Internet access for research
- Bilingual dictionary (online or printed)
- Paper, pencil, and pens for notes
- Cardboard paper, colored pens, glue, and scissors for the visual material of the presentation (optional)
Step by Step
Step 1: Group Formation
Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will receive a profession to research.
Step 2: Research
Each group will research the assigned profession. Students should look for information about what this profession does, what its main tasks are, what skills are required, among others.
Step 3: Vocabulary
Students must identify and write down the English vocabulary related to the profession they are researching. They can use a bilingual dictionary to assist in this task.
Step 4: Presentation Preparation
With the collected information and vocabulary, students must prepare a presentation about the profession. They can use cards, drawings, or any other material to illustrate the presentation.
Step 5: Presentation to the Class
Each group will present their findings to the class. It is important that all group members participate in the presentation.
Step 6: Reflection
After the presentations, students will discuss what they learned and how the research and presentation process was. Each student will write a short text about what they learned and what they thought of the project.
Reminder: The most important thing is for students to have fun during the learning process. Encourage them to be creative and think outside the box!
