Field is the area where we find agricultural activities, such as crops and animal husbandry. It is where most of the food we eat is produced. In the field, nature plays a very important role and the way of life is more connected to working the land.

Now, when we talk about the city, we think of busy streets, tall buildings, cars, but also schools, hospitals, parks, and many other places that make urban life diverse and bustling. In the city, nature is less present and the way of life is more connected to work and non-agricultural activities.

Now, let's think a little: how do people work in the field and in the city? Is work the same in both places? Have you ever stopped to think about how your food gets to the table? And the buildings, how are they constructed?

In the field, work is directly linked to nature. To produce food, it is necessary to plant, take care of plants, harvest, feed the animals, among many other tasks. In the city, work is more diversified. There are jobs in factories, commerce, offices, schools, hospitals, and many other places.

Now, let's imagine: if everyone lived in the field, how would it be? And if everyone lived in the city? Is one way of life better than the other? Let's find out together and learn a lot about our geography, our world, and the way we live in it. Are you ready?

Practical Activity

Activity Title: "My Field, My City"

Project Objective:

This project aims to allow students to understand the differences and similarities between life in the field and in the city, as well as to understand how work functions in both places. Through a practical activity, students will research, create, and present the characteristics of the field and the city.

Detailed Project Description:

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5 members, will conduct online research or use books from the school library about the field and the city. After the research, they will create, on a poster, two illustrations, one representing the field and the other the city. In each illustration, they must show what they saw in the research, such as how people work, how the places are, among other relevant information. Finally, the groups will present their posters to the class, explaining what they learned.

Materials Needed:

1. Internet access or books from the school library for research.
2. Cardboard paper or poster board for creating the poster.
3. Colored pencils, markers, crayons for the illustration.
4. Glue and scissors for assembling the poster (under the teacher's supervision).

Step-by-Step for Carrying Out the Activity:

1. Group Formation: The teacher will form groups of 3 to 5 students.
2. Research: Each group should research about the field and the city, seeking to understand the differences and similarities between the two places and the work carried out in each.
