Context
Introduction
Hello, young explorers of our planet! Our project will be a journey of discoveries on the theme of 'Conservation and Degradation of the Environment'. But what exactly does that mean? Let's start by understanding what the 'environment' is.
The environment is the place where we live, it is the combination of everything that surrounds us: the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil we step on, the plants, the animals, and even the constructions made by humans. All of this is part of our environment.
The Importance of the Environment
Now, why is it important to talk about the conservation and degradation of the environment? Because everything that happens to the environment has a direct impact on the quality of life of all living beings, including us, humans.
The conservation of the environment is the way we take care of it, ensuring that its natural resources are used sustainably, that is, without harming the environment's regenerative capacity. On the other hand, environmental degradation occurs when we do not take care of it properly, causing irreversible damage.
Why is it important to teach about this?
You, as future citizens, have a fundamental role in the conservation of our environment. Through knowledge and awareness, you can become agents of change, helping to build a better and more sustainable world.
In this project, we will work in teams to explore different aspects of the environment. We will deepen our knowledge about the importance of preserving the environment, learn about the main forms of environmental degradation, and how we can contribute to its conservation.
So, are you ready to embark on this adventure? Let's explore, learn, and take care of our planet together!
Practical Activity
Activity Title: 'Our Journey for the Environment'
Project Objective
To conduct a practical team research, exploring aspects of environmental conservation and degradation, and create an 'Adventure Book of the Environment', where each team will share their discoveries and learnings.
Detailed Project Description
Each team will be assigned to explore an aspect of the environment. The areas of exploration are: 'Water', 'Air', 'Soil', 'Flora', and 'Fauna'. Each team should research the assigned aspect, discover how it is important for the environment, how it can be conserved, and in what way it can be degraded.
After the research, each team will create a comic story about their 'Adventure in the Environment', highlighting the learned information. The comic stories will be compiled into an 'Adventure Book of the Environment', which will be presented to the whole class.
Required Materials
For the completion of this activity, each team will need:
- A4 paper for the comic story
- Colored pencils and markers
- Textbooks or internet access for research
- Glue and scissors
- Cardboard or card paper for the cover of the 'Adventure Book of the Environment'
Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution
-
Team Formation: Students will form groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will be assigned to explore an aspect of the environment: 'Water', 'Air', 'Soil', 'Flora', and 'Fauna'.
-
Research on the assigned aspect: Each team will conduct research on the assigned aspect of the environment. They should find out why this aspect is important for the environment, how it can be conserved, and in what way it can be degraded.
-
Creation of the comic story: Based on the research information, the teams will create an illustrated comic story representing an 'Adventure in the Environment'. The story should include characters representing the researched aspect of the environment.
-
Compilation of the 'Adventure Book of the Environment': After completing the comic stories, each team will prepare the cover of the 'Adventure Book of the Environment' on cardboard or card paper. They can decorate and personalize the cover as they wish. Then, the comic stories will be glued inside the book, forming the pages.
-
Presentation of the 'Adventure Book of the Environment': Each team will have the opportunity to present their 'Adventure Book of the Environment' to the class. During the presentation, they can share what they learned from the research and the discoveries made during the creation of the comic story.
Remember, the goal is not just to complete the activity, but to learn about the different aspects of the environment, understand the importance of conservation, and recognize how our actions can contribute to a healthier environment.
Project Delivery
The 'Adventure Book of the Environment' must be delivered to the teacher, along with a brief oral presentation by the team about what was learned during the research. The final project delivery will take place one week after the team formation.
