Let's start by talking about communication. It is the way people relate, exchange information, thoughts, and feelings. It can happen in various ways: through speech, writing, gestures, drawings, signs, among others. Communication is one of the things that makes us human and is essential for living in society.

Means of Communication

Means of communication are the tools we use to communicate. They can be divided into two types: primary means of communication and secondary means of communication. Primary means of communication are those we use to communicate directly with other people, such as speech, writing, and gestures. Secondary means of communication are those we use to communicate with people who are far away or whom we do not know personally, such as the telephone, computer, and television.

Means of communication are very important in our lives. They allow us to learn new things, meet people from other places and cultures, share our ideas and feelings, and much more. But it was not always like this. Many years ago, people did not have all these means of communication. They had to communicate in simpler and more limited ways.

Evolution of Means of Communication

Now, let's talk about the evolution of means of communication. Throughout history, means of communication have been developing and becoming increasingly advanced. For example, before the telephone, people had to communicate through letters, which took a long time to reach their destination. Nowadays, with the cell phone, we can talk to anyone anywhere in the world instantly.

The evolution of means of communication has had a great impact on society. It has changed how we communicate, how we learn, how we have fun, and even how we think. Therefore, it is very important for us to understand how communication tools work, how they have evolved over time, and how they affect our lives.

In this activity, you, in groups of 3 to 5 students, will create a "Communication Time Machine." You will need to research, design, and build the machine, which will have a static part and a mobile part, indicating the evolution of means of communication.

• Cardboard, EVA, or other recyclable material for the machine's structure
• Paints, colored pencils, markers, and brushes
• Scissors, glue, tape, string
• Paper, pen, and printer for research
• Decoration materials: glitter, sequins, stickers, etc. (optional)

Step by Step

1. Research: Each group should research the evolution of means of communication throughout history.
