Prisms

A prism is a three-dimensional figure that has two parallel bases and lateral faces that are parallelograms. The bases of a prism are polygons and the lateral faces are rectangles. If the bases are squares, the prism is called a quadrangular prism.

Pyramids

On the other hand, a pyramid is a three-dimensional figure that has a base, which can be any polygon, and lateral faces that are triangles with a common point, called the vertex of the pyramid. The pyramid is also named according to the shape of its base. For example, if the base is a triangle, the pyramid is called a triangular pyramid. If the base is a square, the pyramid is called a quadrangular pyramid.

Unfoldings

Now, what is an unfolding? An unfolding is a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional figure. Basically, it's as if we disassembled the three-dimensional figure and laid it flat. This helps us visualize the figure better and understand its characteristics.
