Practical Activity: The Journey of Colors

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to explore the universe of colors, one of the main components of Visual Arts, both in theory and in practice. It is intended that students can appreciate and use different colors in a meaningful way in their creations.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group should explore the relationship of colors with emotions and sensations, researching how different artists use colors in their works and what they intended to convey through them.

The task of each group will be to create a visual panel (which can be a drawing, a painting, a collage, etc.) using colors and their combinations to express a chosen emotion or sensation. The panel must be accompanied by a report that explains the choice of colors and how they relate to the chosen emotion or sensation.

Necessary Materials

• Paper or canvas (for painting)
• Materials for painting/drawing/collage (paints, colored pencils, markers, brushes, glue, magazines for cutting, etc.)
• Computer or device with internet access (for research)

Step by Step

1. Research and Discussion (1 hour) - Students should research the theory of colors and how different artists use colors in their works. The idea is for them to discuss and share their findings in the group.

2. Choice of Emotion or Sensation (30 minutes) - The group must choose an emotion or sensation they want to express in their panel.

3. Planning (30 minutes) - After choosing the emotion or sensation, the group must plan how they will represent it through colors in their panel.

4. Creation of the Panel (1.5 to 2 hours) - The group must create their panel, remembering that the focus should be on using colors to express the chosen emotion or sensation.

5. Report (1 hour) - After finishing the panel, the group must write a report explaining the choice of colors and how they relate to the chosen emotion or sensation. The report should be divided into:

   • Introduction: where they contextualize the choice of the theme and the relevance of color in art.

   • Development: where they explain the theory of colors and discuss the relationship of colors with emotions and sensations. They should detail the activity carried out, the methodology used, and present the panel created.

   • Conclusions: where they summarize the main points, explain the learnings obtained, and draw conclusions about the project.

   • Bibliography: where they indicate the sources they relied on to work on the project.

The project must be delivered in one week, and each student should spend two to four hours on its execution.
