Introduction

Throughout this week, we will learn the basic concepts about adjectives. We will start by understanding what they are and how they work. Then, we will explore the different types of adjectives: those that express color, size, taste, appearance, etc.

Our first stop on this journey will be the 'Possessive Adjective'. Have you ever thought about how to say 'my car' in English? Or maybe 'your dog'? Possessive adjectives help us express these ideas.

The next stop will be the 'Demonstrative Adjective'. Have you heard of 'this car', 'that dog', or 'that cat'? Demonstrative adjectives also help us express these ideas.

Next, we will get to know the 'Personality Adjectives'. Have you ever stopped to think about how you would describe a person? Personality adjectives help us do that.

And last but not least, we will explore the 'Appearance Adjectives'. Have you ever seen someone and thought 'wow, that person is tall' or 'that dog is small'? Well, with appearance adjectives, we can express these ideas.

Practical Activity: Illustrated Adjectives Dictionary

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to explore and deepen the knowledge about adjectives in English, encouraging collaboration, creativity, communication, and time management in a group. Additionally, the project aims to develop skills in writing, reading, vocabulary, and, of course, the English language.

Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5, will create an 'Illustrated Adjectives Dictionary'. Each group will be responsible for researching, understanding, and illustrating a set of adjectives in English.

Required Materials

• Cardboard or poster board for the dictionary pages.
• Pencils, erasers, colored markers, or colored pencils.
• Dictionaries (can be online) for research.
• Internet access (for research and additional resources).

Step by Step

1. Group Formation: Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people.

2. Research and Understanding of Adjectives: Each group will receive a list of adjectives to research and understand. They must discover the meanings of the adjectives, their classifications (possessive, demonstrative, personality, appearance, etc.), and examples of use.

3. Discussion and Planning: After the research, students must discuss in groups what they have learned and plan how they will visually represent these adjectives. They can use real-life examples, drawings, collages, or any other creative method.

4. Creating the Dictionary: Using the cardboard or poster board, students must create the dictionary pages. Each page should present an adjective, its meaning, and an illustration. They can use one page for each adjective or group related adjectives on the same page.

5. Dictionary Presentation: After completing the dictionary, each group will make a presentation to the class, explaining the adjectives they researched and how they chose to represent them on their pages. They can also practice the pronunciation of the adjectives during the presentation.

6. Dictionary Exhibition: Each group's final dictionary will be displayed in the classroom, allowing all students to explore and learn from their classmates' work.
