Activity Title: Text Detectives Game

Project Objective

Enhance the skill of text interpretation in English through reading, discussing, and solving riddles and puzzles in groups of 3 to 5 students.

Detailed Project Description

For this project, students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will receive a selection of texts in English of different styles and genres (stories, poems, news, etc.). These texts will contain hidden clues and puzzles that the groups will have to solve to advance in the game. Each correctly solved puzzle will lead to the next text/puzzle.

The texts will have varying degrees of difficulty and complexity. In addition, students will have to work together, discuss possible interpretations, and strategies for solving the puzzles.

The project should be carried out over a period of one week, with an estimated execution time of 2 to 4 hours per student.

Required Materials

• Texts in English (provided by the teacher).
• English dictionary (online or physical).
• Notebook or notepad for notes.

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

1. Formation of groups according to the teacher's instruction.
2. Receipt of texts/puzzles.
3. Individual reading of the texts and noting down ideas, unknown words, suspicions about the clues, etc.
4. Group discussion on each member's interpretations and planning how to solve the puzzles.
5. Implementation of the plan and solving the puzzles. Each solution must be documented, with a clear justification of how they arrived at it.
6. Preparation of the final report, divided among the members. The report should have sections of introduction, development, conclusion, and bibliography.

At the end of the project, the groups must deliver:

1. The answers to each puzzle, including justifications of how they arrived at the answers. The justifications should clearly demonstrate the process of text interpretation.

2. A final report on the project. The report should include:

   • Development: This will be the heart of the report. The group should discuss the theory behind text interpretation. Explain, in detail, the activities carried out, the methodology used to solve the puzzles, and present and discuss the results obtained. Students should be encouraged to reflect critically on the process: what strategies worked? Which ones didn't? Why?

   • Conclusion: Students should revisit the main points of the report, explain what they learned from the project, and draw conclusions from this experience. What skills did they develop? How can this experience be applied to other areas of learning?

   • Bibliography: The group should list all sources used to help solve the puzzles and assist in writing the report. This may include dictionaries, English learning websites, books, etc.

The report must be submitted to the teacher within one week after the completion of the practical activity.
