In this project, we will understand the relationship between work and technology, which is a vital part of human geography. Human geography explores how humans interact with the world around them, including how they live, work, and communicate.
In today's world, technology is transforming the way we work. Many jobs that existed in the past are disappearing due to technological advances, while new jobs are being created. For example, supermarket cashiers are being replaced by self-checkout machines, but at the same time, jobs in the technology industry are emerging.

Understanding how technology affects work is crucial for our future. As technology continues to evolve, more jobs are likely to be automated. This means that we will need to acquire new skills for the work of the future.
Furthermore, technology also affects the geography of work. For example, the ability to communicate instantly with anyone in the world has allowed many people to work from home, eliminating the need to commute to work.

Practical Activity
Activity Title: "The City of the Future"
Project Objective:
Students must create an imaginary city of the future, reflecting on how technology influences work and human geography. They will have to design the different types of jobs that will exist, taking into account technological changes, and map the city, identifying the different work sectors.
Detailed Project Description:
The activity will be carried out in groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will be responsible for creating a city of the future on a large sheet of paper, cardboard, or in a drawing program on the computer (it can be done virtually). The city must include different types of establishments and workplaces, such as schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices, etc.
Students should think about how technology can influence work in each of these places. For example, how can technology change the way people shop? How can technology influence the way doctors work? How can technology affect the way students learn?
Additionally, students must map the city, identifying the different work sectors. For example, where are the workplaces related to the industry located? And those related to health? And to education?
Necessary Materials:
- Large sheets of paper or cardboard
- Pens, colored pencils, crayons, etc.
- Ruler
- Dictionaries (for word research, if necessary)
- Access to a computer with internet (if opting for the virtual version)
Step by Step (Methodology):
