Project Objective

This project aims to assist you in understanding the concept of time in History by creating a timeline about a historical event of your choice. Additionally, you will develop important skills such as research, organization, communication, respect for others' ideas, and time management.

Project Description

You, in groups of 3 to 5 students, will choose a historical event that you find interesting and relevant (for example, the moon landing, the discovery of Brazil, the Industrial Revolution, etc.). Then, you should research the event, identifying the main events that compose it. Based on this information, you will create a timeline, highlighting the most important events and their respective dates.

Required Materials

• Large paper (cardboard, kraft paper, or A3 sheets)
• Colored pens, colored pencils, crayons
• Ruler
• Blunt scissors
• Glue

Step by Step

1. Event Selection: In a group, discuss and choose a historical event to research and represent on the timeline. Remember that the event should be interesting and relevant to everyone in the group.

2. Research: Now it's time to research! Use textbooks, encyclopedias, reliable websites, talk to parents and teachers. Take notes on the most important information about the event and the dates on which they occurred.
