Mathematics is a science that is present in all aspects of our lives, and among its many areas, geometry holds a special place. It studies figures in the plane, such as points, lines, angles, and flat figures.
What is an angle?
An angle is formed by two half-lines with the same origin. Angles are units of measurement that we use to express the extent of a turn. They are very useful in various everyday situations, such as in construction, navigation, physics, etc.
Types of angles
There are different types of angles. An acute angle is less than 90 degrees, a right angle is exactly 90 degrees, an obtuse angle is greater than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees, and a straight angle is equal to 180 degrees.
The importance of angles
Angles are important measuring instruments. In daily life, many activities involve the use of angles. Architects and engineers, for example, use the geometry of angles to build durable and safe structures. Airplane pilots use angles to plot precise routes through the air. And even in simple activities like bowling or billiards, angles are present.

Project Objective
The objective of this project is for students, working in groups of 3 to 5, to create an 'Angles Museum', representing and identifying the main types of angles: acute, right, obtuse, and straight.
Detailed Project Description
Students should explore the environment around them in search of real examples of the different types of angles. After identifying these angles, they should take photos of them and create a virtual or physical angles museum, where each photo represents a type of angle.
Required Materials
- Digital camera or cell phone with a camera
- Cardboard or cardstock paper
- Colored pens, colored pencils, or paints
- Computer with internet access (optional)
Detailed Step-by-Step
- Organize yourselves into groups of 3 to 5 students.
- Review together the concepts of the different types of angles.
- Choose a location where you can find different types of angles: it can be at school, at home, or on the street.
- Use a camera to take photos of different angles you find: each photo should represent a type of angle.
- Review the photos and confirm that they correctly represent the types of angles.
- Print the photos or create drawings inspired by them.
- Set up the museum: you can create a panel on cardboard, make a physical album, or a virtual slideshow.
- Identify in each image what type of angle it is and justify why it is of that type.
- Prepare an exhibition of the Museum. Each group member should be able to explain about the angles depicted in the images.

In this part, students should conclude the work, recalling its main points, explaining the learnings obtained from the project, and the conclusions they were able to draw on the subject.

Students should indicate all sources they used to inform themselves about the project and to deepen their knowledge on the subject, such as books, web pages, videos, among others.
The project is expected to last about a week, and it is expected that each student will spend between two to four hours on its execution.
