Hello, young scientists! Are you ready to embark on a journey of ecological discoveries? Our theme is very important and current: 'Conscious Consumption'. Have you ever stopped to think about how your consumption choices can impact the world around you? Yes, it's true! Every small choice we make, whether buying a snack, a toy, or even turning on an electronic device, can have significant consequences for the environment.

Conscious consumption is a way of consuming that takes into account the well-being of the planet and everyone living on it. It means thinking twice before buying something, considering if we really need it, if it was produced sustainably, and if, when discarded, it will not harm the environment.

Introduction

In this project, we will explore three fundamental topics: a) Sustainable Consumption; b) Correct Waste Disposal; and c) Energy Efficiency.

1. Sustainable Consumption: Knowing how to consume sustainably is a skill we all should learn. This involves understanding the difference between needs and wants, thinking about the origin and life cycle of the products we consume, and seeking options that are better for the environment.

2. Correct Waste Disposal: Do you know that toy you no longer use? Or the leftover candy wrapper? They won't just disappear! It is important to know how to dispose of these wastes correctly so they do not end up polluting the environment.

3. Energy Efficiency: Did you know that the way we use energy can also have a significant impact on the environment? Learning to use energy more efficiently, avoiding waste, is an important part of conscious consumption.

Now, imagine being able to learn all of this in a fun and practical way! That's exactly what we will do in this project. You will become true scientists, investigating, creating, and sharing valuable information about conscious consumption. Are you ready?

Practical Activity

Activity Title: 'Building a Sustainable City'

Project Objective

To develop a model city using recyclable materials that exemplifies the concepts of Sustainable Consumption, Correct Waste Disposal, and Energy Efficiency, thus allowing the understanding of these concepts in a practical and playful way.

Detailed Project Description

Each group of students will be responsible for planning and building a miniature 'Sustainable City' using recyclable and eco-friendly materials. The city should represent what a community that practices conscious consumption and adopts measures to reduce its impact on the environment would look like.

In addition to building the city, students must prepare a report explaining the reasons behind each choice made and how each element of the city contributes to a more conscious consumption. The report should contain information about the three topics we discussed: Sustainable Consumption, Correct Waste Disposal, and Energy Efficiency.
