Objective of the Project
The "Building the Solar System" project aims to allow students to explore, in a practical and fun way, key concepts related to the movement of celestial bodies and, more specifically, spinning and revolving. Furthermore, the activity aims to develop socioemotional skills, such as teamwork, communication, time management, and creative thinking.
Project Description
In this project, groups of students will be responsible for creating a miniature model of the solar system using recyclable materials and presenting it to the class. The miniature model must proportionally represent the planets of the solar system, including the earth's orbit around the sun and the spinning of the earth itself
Necessary Materials
- Styrofoam balls of different sizes (to represent the planets)
- Glue
- Paint (various colors)
- Paint brushes
- Various recyclable materials (cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, bottle caps, etc.)
- String or thread
- Duct tape
- Safety scissors
- Pencil and paper (for planning)
- Books, magazines, or internet access (for research)
Step by Step

Forming Groups: Students will be divided into groups of three to five members. Each group will receive the task of creating a miniature model of the solar system.
