Project Objective

The objective of this project is to observe and record the movement of the stars in the sky, understanding that the Earth and other planets are constantly in motion.

Project Description

In this project, you will become true astronomers! Let's observe and record the patterns of movement of the Sun and the Moon in the sky. You will also discover that, just like the Earth, other planets also have their own movements.

Necessary Materials

• Notebook for notes
• Pencil and eraser
• Ruler
• Clock or stopwatch
• Internet (for research)
• Drawing material (optional)

Step by Step

1. Formation of Groups: Form groups of 3 to 5 students. Each group will be a team of astronomers!

2. Initial Research: Each group should research the movement of the Sun, the Moon, and at least one planet. Learn about what 'apparent movement' is and how it relates to the real movement of the stars.

3. Sky Observation: For a week, every day, you should observe the sky at different times of the day. Take notes on what you see! Does the Sun, the Moon, and the stars change position? In which direction do they move?

4. Recording Observations: In the notebook, draw what you saw in the sky and write down your observations. Use the ruler to help draw the trajectories of the Sun and the Moon.
