Introduction

Project Objective
The objective of this project is to explore and understand the stars and constellations, and then share this knowledge with the class by creating an illustrated guide to the constellations.
Detailed Project Description
In this project, students will work in groups to conduct a detailed research on the stars and constellations. They will learn about the formation and types of stars, as well as the main constellations visible in the southern hemisphere. Students will also learn how to use observation and sky mapping tools, such as the planisphere.
After the research, the groups will create an illustrated guide to the constellations to share with the class. Each guide should contain information about the researched stars and constellations, as well as illustrations created by the students.

- Planisphere (can be made by the students themselves)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

Group Formation: Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people.

Research: Each group will conduct research on three constellations: Southern Cross, Big Dipper, and Scorpius. They should find out how these constellations were formed, which stars are part of them, and how they are seen in the sky.

Creation of the Planisphere: Using A3 paper, students will create a planisphere, which is a map of the sky. They should mark the positions of the three researched constellations, as well as the positions of some important stars.

Elaboration of the Illustrated Guide: Using the planisphere as a reference, students will create an illustrated guide to the constellations. They should include information about the researched constellations, such as the name, the stars that compose it, and its location in the sky. Students should also create illustrations of the constellations.

Presentation: Each group will present their guide to the class. During the presentation, students should explain what they learned about the stars and constellations, and how they created the guide.
This project will be developed over three weeks, with the first week dedicated to research, the second week to guide creation, and the third week to presentations. Students must submit the finalized guide at the end of the second week so that the teacher can monitor progress and provide guidance if necessary.
Delivery Format
