Additionally, shared reading also helps us develop social skills, such as learning to listen to others and express our ideas respectfully.

On the other hand, advanced autonomous reading is a valuable skill that allows us to explore the wonderful world of books by ourselves. When we read alone, we have the freedom to choose what we want to read, at our own pace. Furthermore, advanced autonomous reading also helps us develop time management skills and enhances our ability to concentrate.

Activity Title: 'Book Club'

Project Objective

The objective of this project is to encourage the practice of shared and advanced autonomous reading, develop communication skills, time management, creativity, and teamwork.

Detailed Project Description

Students, divided into groups of 3 to 5, will form a 'Book Club' where they will have the opportunity to read, discuss, and present a book chosen by themselves. Each group will have one month to carry out the project activities. In the end, each group will make a presentation to the class, sharing their reading experiences.

Required Materials

1. Books: Each group will choose a book suitable for their interest and reading level. The books can be borrowed from the school library, classroom, or home.

2. Notebook or binder: To write down ideas, impressions, and summaries about the book.

3. Pencils, pens, erasers, etc.

4. Cardboard, gouache paint, and brushes: For creating a book poster.

5. Access to a computer with internet and printer (if available).

Step by Step

Step 1: Each group must choose a book to read. It is important that all group members agree on the choice.

Step 2: After choosing the book, the group should create a schedule for reading. You have one month to read the book, so decide how many chapters you will read per week.

Step 3: During the reading, each student should write down in their notebook or binder the ideas, impressions, favorite passages, characters that stood out the most, among others.

Step 4: After reading the book, the group should meet to discuss the story, the characters, the feelings the reading aroused, among others. This is an important part of the project, as the discussion will help deepen the understanding of the book.

Step 5: Each group should create a poster about the book. The poster can include the book title, the authors' names, a brief description of the story, some illustrations of the characters or scenes from the book, and the main ideas or feelings the reading aroused.

Step 6: After finishing the poster, each group should prepare a presentation for the class, where they will share their reading experiences and show the book poster.
