We are also talking about the stories we create and live every day, our personal narratives. In our project, 'Building Narratives,' we will discover how stories are constructed, how they affect us, and how we, in turn, can influence our stories and the stories of others!

Narrative is a powerful tool we use to express our thoughts, feelings, experiences, and ideas. It helps us make sense of the world and ourselves. Furthermore, the ability to tell stories is an important social and emotional skill. It allows us to connect with others, develop empathy, understand different points of view, and solve problems.

For example, have you ever stopped to think about what a superhero's daily life is like? Or how it would be if you were the protagonists of an adventure movie? These are narratives we create in our minds, which help us understand the world around us and ourselves. But not all narratives are about adventure and action. Our lives are also made up of simpler stories, like the story of how you made new friends at school, or the story of how you learned something new.

Activating Prior Knowledge

Before we start, let's do a small activity. You will divide into groups of 3 to 5 people, and each group will have to create a short story. It can be a funny, exciting, adventurous, or even a horror story! You can use your imagination freely! Then, each group will present their story to the class. Come on, be creative and have fun!

Practical Activity: 'Creating Our Own Narratives'

Project Objective

The project's objective is to allow students to understand and apply the basic elements of a narrative (character, plot, setting, time, and point of view) in creating their own stories. Additionally, the activity aims to develop social skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, time management, and creative thinking.

Detailed Project Description

Each group of students will be responsible for creating an original story that contains the basic elements of a narrative. The story should be written and illustrated by them. Additionally, each group should present their story to the class, explaining how they thought about each element of the narrative and how they worked as a team to create the story.

• Bond paper or notebook for writing the story
• Pencil, pen, and eraser
• Colored pencils, markers, or crayons for illustrating the story
• Reference books (optional)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Execution

1. Group Formation: Students should form teams of 3 to 5 people.

2. Choosing the Type of Story: Each group should choose the type of story they will create (funny, exciting, adventurous, etc.).

3. Creating Narrative Elements: Students will discuss and decide together on the narrative elements that will be part of their story: character (who is the protagonist? And the antagonist?), plot (what happens in the story?), setting (where does the story take place?), time (when does the story happen?), and point of view (who tells the story?).

4. Writing and Illustrating the Story: With the narrative elements defined, students will write the story on bond paper or a notebook, and they can illustrate it if they wish.

5. Preparing the Presentation: Each group will prepare a brief presentation for the class, explaining their story and how they thought about each element of the narrative.

6. Presentation to the Class: Finally, the groups will present their stories to the class. Each student in the group should participate in the presentation.

Delivery Format

Each group should deliver the written and illustrated story, as well as perform the presentation for the class. The teacher will evaluate both the created story and the presentation, taking into account creativity, understanding of the narrative elements, participation of each student in the group, and respect and collaboration among team members.
