Project Objective

The objective of this project is to explore the relationship between words and images, develop writing, reading, text interpretation, creativity, and teamwork skills. In addition, students will have the opportunity to create their own 'Illustrated Book', where the narrative will be constructed by them, through the use of words and images.

Detailed Project Description

In groups of 3 to 5 students, you will be responsible for creating an illustrated narrative book. The story must be original, written by you, and must contain at least 5 pages. Each page of the book should contain a combination of text and image that represents the story. The book will be a joint work of the whole group, where each member will have a specific role to play.

Required Materials

• Paper for the book pages
• Pencils, pens, and erasers
• Markers and/or colored pencils
• Scissors and glue
• Old magazines for cutouts (optional)

Detailed Step-by-Step for Activity Completion

1. Group Formation: Students will group themselves into 3 to 5 participants.

2. Story Definition: The group must discuss and decide on what will be the story of their book. The story can be about anything you want, as long as it is appropriate for school.

3. Task Division: Each group member will have a specific role to play. One will be the writer, responsible for writing the story. Another will be the illustrator, responsible for drawing the images. And the last one will be the editor, responsible for reviewing the text and images and assembling the book.

4. Text Creation: The writer should start writing the story in a draft. Remember that the story should have a beginning, middle, and end. You can divide the draft into 5 parts, one for each page of the book.

5. Image Creation: The illustrator should start drawing the images for the book. Each image should represent a part of the story. You can use colored pencils, markers, or even magazine cutouts to create the images.

6. Review and Book Assembly: The editor should review the text and images and make necessary changes. Then, they should assemble the book by gluing the pages together.

7. Book Presentation: Each group will have the opportunity to present their book to the class. During the presentation, explain the story, show the images, and talk about the book creation process.
