In this project, you will have the opportunity to explore this fascinating universe of drawing and understand how it fits into the broader context of artistic expression. We will investigate different drawing styles from various regions and periods to understand how they reflect the society and culture of the time in which they were created.

Introduction

Drawing is one of the earliest forms of human communication, even before the invention of writing. Since then, it has been an essential means of expression and a fundamental tool for many areas of knowledge, such as architecture and engineering. Through drawing, we can represent our ideas and thoughts visually, allowing us to communicate them more effectively.

Drawing allows us not only to represent the world realistically but also to create imaginary worlds and express our emotions and feelings. Furthermore, by drawing, we exercise our ability to perceive and interpret the world around us, leading us to a deeper and more meaningful understanding of our reality.

Activity

Activity Title: 'Artistic Journey Through Drawing'

Project Objective

Explore different drawing styles, relating them to the historical and cultural contexts in which they emerged, and create an original artwork inspired by one of these styles. The goal is to engage students in artistic expression through drawing, encouraging research and teamwork.

Detailed Project Description

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 members. Each group will choose a drawing style (such as Renaissance, Impressionist, Abstract, Modern, etc.) to study in-depth, researching its origins, influences, main artists, and characteristics. After understanding the chosen style, students should create an original drawing inspired by it.

The original drawings should be elaborated collaboratively, with each group member contributing significantly to the final work. Students can decide how to divide tasks, but it is recommended that everyone participates in all stages of the process: research, discussion, drawing planning, execution, and review.

Required Materials

• Various pencils and papers;
• Internet access for research;
• Additional drawing materials (such as crayons, colored pens, watercolors, etc.), depending on the chosen style.

Detailed Activity Steps

1. Formation of groups and choice of drawing style to be researched.
2. Research on the chosen style, including its origin, influences, characteristics, main artists, and works.
3. Group discussion on the collected research information and drawing planning.
4. Drawing execution, dividing tasks collaboratively.
5. Review and finalization of the drawing.
6. Preparation of the final report on the project.

At the end of the project, in addition to the drawing, the group should prepare a written report on the work done. This report should include:

1. Introduction: a brief contextualization of the project, the chosen style and why it was chosen, in addition to the relevance of drawing as a form of artistic expression.
2. Development: detailing the methodology used, from research on the drawing style to the execution of the work. It should explain who did what, how decisions were made, what were the main difficulties, and how they were overcome.
3. Conclusions: reflection on what was learned from the project, both in terms of knowledge about drawing and artistic styles and in terms of teamwork. Additionally, it should present a critical analysis of the final drawing, pointing out strengths and possible improvements.
4. Bibliography: list of all information sources used during the research.

This project should take about two to four hours of work per student. With a one-week delivery time, the group will have enough time to meet, discuss, execute the drawing, and prepare the report.
