Project Goal

The objective of this project is to provide students with an opportunity to practice the skill of asking for clarification in English through a team-based game.

Project Description

Students will create and participate in a game called “The Clarification Chase.” In this game, students will navigate a series of puzzles and questions. The catch is that all clues and questions will be written in English and may include unfamiliar words or phrases. Your mission, therefore, is to ask each other for clarification in order to understand the questions and find the answers.

Materials Needed

1. Paper and pens to write down questions and answers.
2. Computer or smartphone with internet access for research.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Divide the class into teams of 3-5 students.
2. Each team must create 5 riddles or questions that include vocabulary or expressions that might be unfamiliar to others. These questions can be on any topic – from scientific facts to pop culture trivia.
3. Once all teams have their questions ready, exchange the questions between teams.
4. Now each team must work to solve the questions from the other teams. They can ask each other for clarification, whether it is about the meaning of a word or understanding the question itself.
5. The goal is to solve as many questions as possible within one week. During this time, encourage cooperation and effective communication within the teams.

Project Deliverables

At the end of the project, each team will submit a written report following this format:
