Climate varies from place to place due to geographical differences such as altitude and the presence of bodies of water. On a global scale, climate is influenced by phenomena involving the movement of air and water, which are driven by factors such as the rotation of the Earth and the distribution of solar radiation.

Climate patterns are formed from complex interactions between oceans, atmospheres, oceanic and terrestrial currents, geographical dimensions, vegetation, among other factors. Various factors influence climate characteristics such as ocean currents, latitude, altitude, relief, the presence of oceans, winds, atmospheric gases, among others.

There are several types of climates, including tropical, subtropical, temperate, polar, and arid climates. Different parts of the world experience different types of climate, depending on their geographical position. Therefore, it is essential for us to understand the concept of climate and the various factors that contribute to its differences.

Contextualization

Earth is a dynamic planet where different regions experience different climates. These varied climates not only shape our local environments but also significantly impact human life and other living beings, influencing habitability conditions, agriculture, economy, among others. Therefore, it is extremely relevant to understand how climates work and their variations.

Furthermore, currently, with the intensification of climate change caused by human action, understanding the different climates around the world and their changes becomes even more crucial. Climate influences not only the environment but also human societies, their cultures, and economies. Therefore, understanding climate is essential for planning a more sustainable future.

"Creative Climatology: Getting to Know the Climates of the World"

Project Objective

Detailed Project Description

This project will involve research, teamwork, creative presentation, and report writing.

Students will be divided into groups of 3 to 5 people. Each group will be responsible for choosing a climatic region of the world and presenting a creative exploration of that climate, including its characterization, influencing factors, and how this climate affects human activities and local ecosystems.

Required Materials

• Internet access for research.
• Cardboards, colored pencils, pens, glue, and scissors for creating an explanatory poster.

Step by Step

1. Each group will choose one of the following climatic regions: Polar, Temperate, Tropical, Subtropical, Desert, Mediterranean, or another of interest.
2. Students must research the characteristics of this climate, such as average temperatures, precipitation, seasons, and other relevant aspects.
3. Students must investigate the factors that influence this climate, such as latitude, altitude, proximity to the sea, ocean currents, vegetation, among others.
4. They should analyze and present how this climate affects human activities (agriculture, architecture, clothing, etc.) and local ecosystems.
5. With the collected information, the group must create a creative and educational poster that explains the characteristics of the climate and its influence on the chosen region.
6. Finally, each group will present their poster to the class, explaining the aspects they researched and learned.

Project Deliverables and Connection to the Suggested Activity

After presenting the poster, the group of students must write a report document, which will consist of four main parts:

1. Introduction: Students must contextualize the chosen climatic region, explain why it is relevant, and what the project's objective was.

2. Development: Students must explore the theory behind the chosen climate, detail the methodology used in the research and poster development, present and discuss the results obtained. It is important to include here the collected information about the climate characteristics, the factors that influence it, and how it affects human life and ecosystems.

3. Conclusions: Students must reflect on what they learned from the experience, their main findings, and any conclusions that may have arisen from it.

4. Bibliography: Each group must list all research sources used for the project, including books, websites, videos, etc.

The report should complement the practical work, offering a theoretical basis for what was learned in a more empirical way and giving students the opportunity to reflect and discuss the knowledge acquired.
