Detailed Project Description:

For this project, students will create a series of maps that represent different facets of geography, including climate, relief, vegetation, and population, with a special focus on their own local areas. Initially, all groups will need to research and study their chosen location, including its climate, vegetation, relief, and population. The second part of the project will involve creating the maps using cartographic techniques.

Required Materials:

  • Geography and cartography books and online materials
  • Base maps of the study area
  • Pens, colored pencils, rulers, compasses
  • Cardstock or cardboard
  • Graphic editing software (optional)

Detailed Step-by-Step:

  1. Research and Study (Estimated time: 6 hours): Each team will choose a study location. The team members will then conduct a thorough research on their chosen location, investigating its climate, vegetation, relief, and population.
